Ghost of Demons past is about a young man trying to come to grips with his past some people have a hard time dealing with this those that were in past military conflicts that were just doing their job. It can sometimes cause serious problems but forgiving yourself is a start.

Trying hard to understand what had just happened Todd went back to the village he followed his commander’s orders and played over and over in his mind this would make him feel better, but it did not. It started as a routine mission and then things went sideways what could make things go so wrong Todd drove into a small village on a routine operation, children were walking and laughing

He thought this day would be a day where he would just go in and come out, but that did not happen missiles started falling and people started shooting Todd got back to his truck trying to make sense of what was happening, and he ordered his gunner to take his position. The platoon had gotten word there was not going to be an invasion, was this intel wrong? Trying frantically to get out of the camp his truck hit and killed a civilian; Todd ordered his driver to take this route afraid to get out he told his driver to continue leaving the person lying in the road, after getting a handle on things Todd went back to where he saw the man lying. The shelling had stopped the incident weighed heavily on Todd’s mind would the man still be alive if he had stopped and offered assistance?

Todd looked around there were bodies all over the place this scared his memory for the rest of his life Todd stood looking at the two men he had shot during his escape. Todd woke up in his bedroom walked around for a while to get his breath and then laid back down his pillow was soaking wet; he was sweating thinking about what he had done and why were these ghosts haunting him.

Todd would bear this burden the rest of his life the routine mission that went wrong was Todd shot someone in self-defense sometimes it was hard for Todd to sleep because of these nightmares Todd sat up and saw people he had shot walking through the house walking through his bedroom, he was trying to make sense of why these ghosts were haunting him was it in his psyche was he inherently violent by nature or was he doing what he was told to do no one knows only Todd and God.

For fear that his girlfriend would leave him, Todd talked to his psychiatrist he had to get a handle on things Linda and Todd had been dating for a year she wanted to move in with him. He took some bread out of the refrigerator and made lunch Todd looked at his hands they were covered in blood He knew one day his past would haunt him and one day that he would pay for his past transgressions now was that time early that morning Todd had an appointment with his doctor he didn’t fully understand what his doctor was going to say to him but he would be truthful.

Tell me what went on that day he thought it would be better if he came clean his doctor told him he has to forget the past you don`t understand what I have done those faces are the people whose lives I have taken Todd went back to his apartment and set down at his desk thinking of what his doctor had told him God is not punishing you, learn to let go his girlfriend came in Todd asked if she thought he was a bad person she said no I would not be with you if you were.

He went into the bathroom splashed some water on his face dried his face looking in the mirror he said God please let me put these demons to rest after eating dinner his girlfriend kissed him and said see you tomorrow.
