Complacency

Complacency in the workplace is dangerous we start to take short cuts, because I have done this so many times and we think nothing will happen. That is when we allow May-Ham to strike. We are accustomed to habit so lets get in the habit of doing things the right way, you will be glad you did. When I worked at Sequoya nuclear power station, we had a two-minute rule.

Stop look around and find hazards and correct them.

Think about what could happen.

Observe your surroundings always being aware of what is around you could save your life and the life of others.

Act make sure other employees are aware of the hazard when I worked at Dutch Gap Dominion power generating station lights would go out my job was to trouble shoot them and change light bulbs if needed. I would place a danger tag on cord at power source to prevent anyone from energizing it.

Proceed when everything is clear.
